CONCEPT

“Footsteps” is a film that was conceived during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the uncertain nature of the global crisis, Alex wrote a script that could be filmed safely in the current climate. In the summer of 2021, filming commenced on the short film, which was filmed back-to-back with the upcoming “Zen”.

The idea to make “Footsteps” a horror film was due to the increasing anxieties behind the virus that was plaguing lots of families across the world. The thought of something that you can’t see can easily take you and hurt you, and possibly kill you, is what spawned the idea of the Creature

PRODUCTION

“Footsteps” was always designed to be the shortest live-action film to be produced so far by Eyesight Productions. The script had little dialogue meaning the emphasis was more on what you see, or what you don’t see, in order to increase suspense. Oh, and it is entirely set at night. So preparations were made to film the whole film in one night.

Harrison Wright was excited to step into the role of Casper and Paula Wright was just as excited to have a small part in making the film too. The Creature was brought to life thanks to some puppeteering techniques with Paula Wright controlling it. The film was shot over one night and then a month of editing soon followed, all ready for a Halloween release

MUSIC

Niall Murray returned once again to supply the score for the short films. After his fantastic work on “The Girl in the Café” and “Obsessiveness", it was a no-brainer to have him return, and luckily he managed to find some time to craft something truly eerie and atmospheric!
