CONCEPT
The style and creation of “Oink!” were truly special and unique. It was a world that could have more opportunities and stories to tell. In the height of the 2020 global pandemic the idea of creating another story, and the first true sequel here at Eyesight Productions, was a tantalising and unmissable proposition. Making it Christmas-themed was an easy decision, after all the first short film was based around Valentine’s Day, so it made sense to have the sequel based around another holiday.

STORY
"Merry Oink-Mas!" reunites Sprog and Oink as Sprog attempts to find the perfect Christmas gift for Oink. Sprog once again escapes his pen in search of the perfect gift for Oink this Christmas Day. How far is Sprog willing to go for that elusive gift?
PRODUCTION
“Merry Oink-Mas!” went into pre-production early in 2021 and was filmed after “Footsteps” and “Zen”. Most of the assets from the first film, “Oink!”, were used here again. However new environments and characters had to be designed and made. Not only that, but the film had to feel different from the first one and so blue tissue-paper was used instead of the pink one used in “Oink!”. The blue colours helped give the film a more cold and wintry aesthetic.
“Merry Oink-Mas!” was filmed over one night and was edited together with the aim of a Christmas Eve release date.
MUSIC
Returning to the musical world of “Oink!” is Lachlan Murray. His whimsical and free-spirited ode to the first film helped give the film it’s unique tone and style, and he returns this time to give “Merry Oink-Mas!” that special Christmas feeling.
