Obsessiveness Introduction
STORY
"Obsessiveness" follows the life of Ryan, played by Simon Palmer, as we take a look at a snapshot of his life. We see him trying to do the basic task of meeting up with his friends which is made overly difficult due to Ryan's OCD.

CONCEPT
In 2019 Harrison Wright came up with an idea for a story based around a character suffering from OCD. The idea sparked interest to him due to personal reasons and also because it’s a condition that’s not often explored in films.

The following year he approached Alex Murray to produce the film on the condition that he could direct it himself. So over the span for a few short months Alex and Harrison cast the film and filmed it in one location, in one take. The reason for the single take was to make it feel more real and immersive, which they managed to achieve in the final cut.

“Obsessiveness” is a roughly 20-minute long short film that is shot in one take. The recently released “1917” helped inspire Harrison Wright to attempt the one shot with this film.

After casting was complete the main hurdle was getting over 20 pages of a script rehearsed for an unbroken single take. It took a team effort as producer Alex Murray and director Harrison Wright found a location useful to rehearse the film in. Once the roles of Simon and Harris were cast they decided to use the rehearsal location as the primary filming location for the film. Over the course of several days worth of rehearsals the film was complete and the result was a success.

VOICE CAST
Alex Murray, Charlie Wright, Abbie Noonan and Paula Wright all contribute to the film in a variety of voice roles. They play the friends and family of Ryan and they all play an important role in his life, however on this one day Ryan gets more than he’s bargained for when his plans fall apart and other engagements are delayed.
RYAN
Simon Palmer plays Ryan, a young man living on his own and suffering from OCD. Despite his condition he remains close to his family and friends who aren’t aware of the severity of his condition.
Gary Vasey plays Harris, the next door neighbour to Ryan. Harris is a caring and considerate neighbour, well that’s what he tells himself, but he means well and he looks after Ryan if he notices anything out of the ordinary. As all good neighbours do.
