So production is going pretty well on Oink!, the second film by Eyesight Productions and the first by Eyesight Animation. What’s the difference? Eyesight Productions is dedicated to making films of any type and any genre. Eyesight Animation is part of Eyesight Productions which concentrates solely on stop-motion film projects. Only three projects are in development and the first of which is Oink!, as you all know.
Oink! is based on shadow puppetry, an ancient style of storytelling which is very often overlooked. I thought the style would match perfectly with the narrative of Oink!, mainly because there’s no dialogue, it’s told mainly through visuals and there is music which guides the story along.
The main character in the film is a spry young piglet known as Sprog. Sprog is the only animal in a pen who lives outside a family’s house in the countryside. Sprog just wants someone to give him some love and attention, which is why he breaks out the pen and escapes into the household. This is all the information that has been released so far. To tell you more would spoil the story, but I hope you are excited and curious enough to discover more when the film is released.
Oink! is set for release in February with a date to be soon decided, but please keep an eye out on the Eyesight Productions facebook page and this website for more details as soon as they come available.
