An Insight into Eyesight: What’s Coming in 2019

Updated: Jan 9, 2021

Eyesight Productions is transforming this year. For one year only we are launching …Eyesight Animation! As mentioned in December we have a few projects in development:

Let's take a look at the three projects that are coming up:

Oink! is the first stop-motion film in development. The idea for this came about a few years ago when I first came up with the story behind Awake. It’s a simple idea about a young piglet known as Sprog, and how he feels lonely, and because he feels lonely he decides to break out of his pen. He ventures inside the household where his owners live, in search of attention and love. It’s a simple idea and will be between 1 and 2 minutes long, and will act as my first foray into the animation genre.

Most stop-motion animation uses clay or plasticine, but this form of animation will involve shadow puppetry and will look distinctive in style. The film should be ready for a late February release exclusively on Youtube!

Poof and the Big Blue Sky is inspired by children books and children television. I wanted a very visual, fun and creative story for my second animated film. Even though it will run at no longer than 2 minutes, it will have a lot of depth and story to it. The style is in a typical stop-motion animation style but with elements of craftwork. This means I will be using materials such as card, wool, coloured paper and buttons among other things to make it feel unique.

The story behind Poof and the Big Blue Sky is a simple one, a baby cloud called Poof is born from thin air. A narrator takes us on a journey with Poof in the Big Blue Sky, where everything is set above a cloudline. As Poof explores the Big Blue Sky he experiences obstacles. Look forward to more information later in year with a May release date, once again exclusively on Youtube!

Finally, the last animated film of the year is Awake which was first announced in early 2018. Awake is a long time coming and is inspired by Aardman Animation films such as Wallace and Gromit. As a result of the ambition behind the project, a lot of work is going into planning it and getting it right. The tone, the miniature sets and the camera movements will make the film feel warmly and family friendly. The story is based around two young brothers, Christopher and James, and how their antics get Christopher into trouble.

The creation of the characters is currently ongoing with set design and costume work commencing at a later date. I hope you’re looking forward to this film as I am, and it will be interesting to see how the finished product will look! The tentative release date is October this year, and I will keep everyone updated in the months to come.

As you can see there are three very different projects in development, so please be patient and look forward to the first one next month! Until then I shall say thanks for reading, and if you want to keep up to date then please follow us on Facebook!
